On XX/XX/XXXX, I submitted an application for the Capital One Saks Fifth Avenue Mastercard at the Saks Fifth Avenue store in XXXX XXXX XXXX. At the time, the employee failed to informe me that if I had an existing store card my application was going to be automatically declined. A few day later I received a letter from Capital One declining the application due to having too many Capital One Saks Fifth Avenue accounts. After the letter, I called Capital One and I was told that because I had already a XXXX account my application was declined and the only way to have the application re-reviewed was to close the existing account which I agree to close the account and have the application review again. I just received another declined letter stating the same thing the first letter stated which is the application was declined due to having too many Capital One Saks Fifth Avenue accounts. Today, XX/XX/2022, I called Capital One and I was informed that even though I closed my original XXXX account the application was automatically turned down because their system does not recognize that the existing account had been closed which I was never informed on my first call. I believe this a deceiving practice and now my credit card was pulled. If this information had been giving to me before submitting the application on XX/XX/2022, I would have been able to make an informed decision.
