Ive been a capital one customer for many years now and Ive never experienced what Im going through with any other card company. Ive made all my payments on time for years but have recently gone through hard times with focus which has resulted in me losing my job and making less then half of what I used too. Capital one has shut my account as of last year as I still continue to pay off my card every month. I dont want the account open but the interest on this card has caused me to make payments every single month and not see the principal balance change at all because of the ridiculous interest rate and fees. I have called multiple times and capital one will not work out a payment plan with me, lower my interest or do absolutely anything to help a long time customer in this situation. Ive been looking at the same balance for so long while still making payments its like they want to bury their customers in interest that will cause them to never pay off a card unless they had extra money. Its so upsetting and frustrating because Im a XXXX XXXX with a house an XXXX kids. It feels like this card will cause me to never get by at all. Its affected my credit so negatively and capital one will literally do absolutely nothing to help me unlike other credit card companys. Hopefully someone with a heart from their team will see this and do something to help me. I really hope I can work something out because at this rate I wont be able to make payments anymore if its just all going to interest. Please just try to work something out to help a long time customer whos family uses capital one but now sees how they treat a struggling customer. I cant afford these ridiculous XXXX $ minimum payments a month out of nowhere
