Consumer Narrative

I previously submitted a complaint, as well as feedback to that complaint regarding this ongoing situation. I was by no means satisfied with the results. As the supervising authority over the credit reporting agencies, I ask that you please again, look into this matter being that Equifax did not address all of my issues, and I was left with an unjust solution. Equifax did not address the fact they did not respond to several dispute letters although I mailed them certified, and tracking shows that the letters were received and left with an agent! This unfair treatment is in violation of 15 U.S. Code 1681i. They did not respond, and that alone is enough to get the disputed information deleted ; It says so right in the text of the law! Equifax, nor the furnishers addressed reasons as to why they continued reporting disputed information upon receiving notice by the consumer, that I have reasonable cause to believe the information being reported is inaccurate. This is a violation of 15 U.S. Code 1681s2. Equifax also did not address my concerns pertaining to my consumer right to privacy that is being violated. Per 15 U.S. Code 1681, congress states that there is a need to insure that consumer reporting agencies exercise their grave responsibilities with fairness, impartiality, and a respect for the consumers right to privacy. Equifax violated due to not exercising their grave responsibility because my nonpublic personal information is STILL being shared without my consent by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ; XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ; XXXX XXXX XXXX ; XXXX XXXX XXXX [ No account number listed on my reports ]. This is identity theft! How are they reporting my private nonpublic personal information such as my social security number and other identifying information which I never gave them to furnish to nonaffiliated third parties such as Equifax, and others!?? I need answers! That, and the following are also violations of 15 U.S. Code 6801 and 15 U.S. Code 6802. Furthermore, I never received an adequate opt out disclosure upon allegedly establishing relationships with the following financial institutions XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX ; XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX This is also violation of 17 CFR 160.7. I was not given an opportunity to opt out and the opportunity to exercise my right was taken from me. Granted, I do not recall having accounts with all of them, but nonetheless, at this point, I need to see original physical documentation baring my signature, -as well as any clear and conspicuous opt-out disclosure forms that were allegedly signed by me. Lastly, Equifax did not address my concerns for DEPT OF EDUCATIONXXXX XXXX. This institution is reporting that I missed four payments, which is simply not true! Even if I missed said payments, please explain how ONE missed payment is 90 DAYS LATE???? Shouldn't ONE missed payment be 30 Days late?? This makes ZERO sense! How in the world did Equifax state to me in writing that they " verified '' this item?!!! Either update the account reflecting that I made these payments on time : [ XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX ], -or delete this item all together!! On another note, this account is reporting EIGHT TIMES, instead of ONE, so those four inaccurate missed payments is equivalent to 32 missed payments! This is unnecessarily harming me! Equifax stated to you, the CFPB, and myself, in writing, that they have " verified '' the information and it is blatantly inaccurate! Lastly, Equifax also stated in writing that XXXX XXXX XXXX ; XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX [ No account number ] is not reporting on Equifax, but I am looking right at it! I will allow some time for this to update, as it is possible is was deleted prior to my complaint.
