Consumer Narrative

I was injured at work in the XXXX of XXXX, requiring a medical test at a local hospital. The entire matter was handled by my employer 's worker 's compensation coverage. The hospital forwarded a bill to collections without making any attempt to collect from me. If I had received a bill or a phone call from either the hospital or the collection agency, I would have notified my employer and the matter would have been resolved through worker 's compensation. Instead, I discovered the outstanding bill when I did a periodic check of my credit report. At no time in the two years prior to this discovery was I notified that I was regarded as having an outstanding debt : it was simply forwarded, and now my credit score has plummeted due to this derogatory entry on my report. I have notified my employer of this debt and expect speedy resolution so that the debt is satisfied. I have also written to the collection agency.
