My wife ( XXXX XXXX XXXX had a lease with XXXX XXXX. We decided to purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease ( we are a few months away. When we contacted the dealer- the direction on the website- they told us we were REQUIRED to finance with the dealership or someone they refer us to. That is not in our lease agreement and the rates were much higher than what was available to us from other sources. When I called XXXX XXXX they told us this was a common occurrence at the dealership - common enough that XXXX XXXX had decided consumers would not have to deal with the local dealership - and XXXX XXXX professionally handled our transition from a lease to a loan with XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX. I spoke to the Area Manager for XXXX XXXX- and he said he knows this happens and they are working on it? I told him that is an outrageous answer - people that are defrauding their clients should be fired! Basically the people at XXXX XXXX -including the sales person and business manager lied to us about our lease agreement to trick us into taking a loan with one of their partners so - in their words " they could make some money on the loan '' ... They didn't just try to sell it- they said it would be required - and they would sue us and attempt to rescind the purchase if we got a loan with another financing agency. I am sure they would catch some people in this net but it is fraud, illegal and clearly unethical. We had to spend additional time to get this completed ( which it now has been completed ). We believe some compensation for us is in order ; and some sanctions against the dealership should be imposed... Thank you
