Consumer Narrative

Additional information after receiving feedback- CFPB complaint # XXXX XXXXA supervisor hasnt called me. I will provide a copy of my phone record. I request this account to be removed from my credit report until document of debt is received from company. My phone number is XXXX I advised XXXX the phone number she gave wasnt my phone number. I agree I asked XXXX only about a pay to delete because of the tone of the call and XXXX implying that I was argumentative. No where in my initial complaint did I say I discussed removal from credit report. This complaint is to request removal from my credit report until I receive correspondence about the debt. I wasnt given the opportunity to resolve debt because the only correspondence was conveniently sent to the wrong address and when the company obtained the correct address no attempt was made to collect the debt. I am requesting the collection process to be reaged to allow the company to reissue the letter and allow me to resolve the account within the 45 days offered in the initial letter. XXXX informed me debtors have 45 days to take action before credit reporting after the letter is sent. Had the company reissued the letter after the correct address was found 1 day after they obtained acct this matter wouldve gotten resolved. This appears to violate FDCPA. I wasnt given a 30day opportunity to resolve or dispute the debt and the company states they updated to my correct address within 24 hours of of obtaining account. XXXX stated the got my correct address from skip tracing, and nothing was returned to sender from the incorrect address. A simple XXXX search of my name and previous city gives my phone number and agent said they tried to call me and I advised number on file not my phone number ; since a skip trace was conducted 1 day after the company obtained account my new phone number was also found and no attempt was made to call. Considering the timeframe between the company receiving account from XXXX and them obtaining my correct information via skip trace, I am asking the creditor to reage the debt to the original 45 days from notification as per the terms of the original letter to allow adequate time for resolution. It appears unethical and intentional that no effort was made to use correct information was gained via skip trace, especially considering the purpose of skip tracing is to locate, notify, and collect debt ; especially suspicious if my credit profile was accessed through skip trace. If my credit profile has been accessed by this debtor it would appear that debtor avoided using contact information to create urgency for payment because I have a 100 % payment history.
