I received a letter from my credit union on XX/XX/XXXX informing me that all of my existing accounts will be garnished and or frozen, due to the receipt of a writ of garnishment in the amount of {$3000.00}, effective XX/XX/XXXX. In addition, a service charge of {$100.00} had been debited from my account. The letter stated the credit union could not assist me with this matter and to contact a company listed in the letter, in which I have no idea who they represent or who the debt is supposed to be owed to. I have not received any correspondence regarding this matter. I contacted the company concerning the matter and was unable to get any information or assistance. The company requested my full name, social security number, date of birth, and address to even speak with me. I was not comfortable with providing this personal information by phone, especially to someone that I no knowledge of. They told me the conversation was over since I would not provide the information to them, and I can check with the courts. I have not received any court documents regarding this matter either. After spending hours attempting to locate information from the court, I was able to dig up information about a third party that was submitted to the courts in XXXX. This is well over the statute of limitations, and I still have no idea who the original debtor is. The company is submitting falsely dated court documents to the credit union.
