Consumer Narrative
I cancelled the credit card within 30 days of getting the statement with the annual fee on it. The bank refuses to remove the fee because they say the card was used after the fee was posted. However, none of that matters. All that matters is closing the card within 30 days of getting the fee. The bank must remove it, and unless this gets handled very quickly, they will also need to remove any other fees associated with not removing the annual fee on time.
