I was missing a couple of checks that I sent out to pay some of my bills. I checked XXXX and the water company and they have not received my payment yet. After noticing the missing checks, on XX/XX/XXXX, someone from Wells Fargo called my phone and stated that there is suspicious activity in my account. She asked if I withdrew money, which I did not. Once I got the call, on XX/XX/XXXX, I went to the bank to report the suspicious activity. I then told them that I am missing the checks. The banker said to change my checking account number and open a new one. I closed the old checking account number and thought everything is done. However, on XX/XX/XXXX, someone successfully took money from my new checking account. In total, they stole {$17000.00} ( checkings and savings ). The banker was also confused because the checking account is new. I went to the bank again to file a complaint and the banker documented everything. He was very helpful to me.
