On XX/XX/2022, I received a XXXX credit alert from XXXX and XXXX that a new account has been added. I was surprised because my credit has been frozen for a year and I have not applied for any new credit. When I logged into XXXX, I noticed that Aldous and Associates, a collection agency, had been added to my credit file in the amount of {$76.00} for XXXX XXXX in XXXX. I immediately disputed this as I have NEVER had a gym membership in XXXX nor have I ever received any bill or notification in the mail for this amount. I suspect someone took out a membership in my name. I immediately filed a dispute with XXXX, but when I called XXXX they said they could not locate the collections on my report, yet it was added to XXXX and then later on to XXXX, both credit monitoring services for XXXX. This is very upsetting to me because it is not my debt, I have never had a membership for XXXX XXXXXXXX in XXXX, nor have I received any information or warning from XXXX XXXX or Aldous and Associates before this was added to my report. If I knew that a debt was being collected in my name, I could have worked this out with XXXX XXXX to explain that this is not my debt and something is wrong. Now, my credit score has taken a significant hit. I checked my XXXX and XXXX reports and this collections account is not there, but I am worried it will fraudulently be added to those accounts as well. I work VERY hard to maintain a good credit score and have never paid any bill late or had any kind of negative mark on my account. This is very upsetting to me considering it is not even my debt and I never received anything in the mail notifying me that XXXX XXXX was trying to collect a debt, let alone one that is not mine.
