On XX/XX/2022 I received notification that an inquiry had been made on my TransUnion credit report. Not having had request an inquiry be made, I immediately checked my report to see XXXX XXXX Bank was the inquiring company. I called and spoke with XXXX XXXX Bank and they confirmed and application was made using my information and that they flagged the application as potentially fraudulent before it was completely processed. The representative also advised I report the incident to XXXX, which I did within one hour of originally discovering the fraud. I sent a dispute via USPS to TransUnion not long after the incident ( exact date unknown ) with a letter requesting an investigation along with a copy of the report from XXXX. I also requested information on the procedure TransUnion used to investigate my request. TransUnion responded within 30-days with a letter stating the inquiry was valid and provided no additional information and made no mention of my report from the government 's Identify Theft website. As of XX/XX/2022, the inquiry has not been removed from my report and TransUnion has only attempt at explanation was sending a standard letter explaining the dispute process.
