Consumer Narrative

In XX/XX/2022, I received a copy of my Equifax consumer report and noticed a report of a public record. I sent Equifax a dispute letter notifying them of the error and demanded that it be removed. On XX/XX/2022, I received a credit update through the US mail stating they had completed there investigation of my dispute and " we verified that this item belongs to you. '' It also states above the results that Equifax obtained the public record item from " local, state and federal courts through third party vendor, XXXX. '' According to the FCRA, in order for Equifax to report the alleged US BANKRUPTCY COURT it would need to be able to both VALIDATE and VERIFY the information with original creditor. The US Bankruptcy Court would be the creditor to furnish this information and have previously communicated with me through documented mail that they DO NOT furnish any corresponding information to ANY of the CRAs. US Bankruptcy Court has also assured me that it is not within their policies or obligation to validate any public records. Following my confirmation with US Bankruptcy Court, I also confirmed with XXXX, whom Equifax states their public record information is obtained from, that they were not able to validate this alleged bankruptcy in accordance with federal law on neither their VERIFIED and NON-VERIFIED departments. Equifax has NOT properly investigated this account and is willfully reporting incorrect and inaccurate information on my report. Equifax is breaking several federal laws and committing fraud according to 15 USC 1681 ( A ) ( E ), 15 USC 1681C ( A ), and I HAVE NOT given any direct or indirect instruction to furnish any of my information. In addition to my proof of their willful negligence, I also explained to the representative I spoke with that this public record is only being reported by Equifax not the other 2 major reporting agencies, XXXX and XXXX. By law, if there is an inaccuracy on my report it MUST be removed by ALL 3 agencies.
