Consumer Narrative

I was a victim of Identity Theft years and submitted a dispute about 3 fraudulent accounts with Transunion on XX/XX/XXXX. I submitted evidence from my XXXX 's office verifying they arrested an employee for stealing and selling my identity, an Identity Theft Affidavit, and multiple court documents showing these fraudulent accounts were removed, with prejudice. On XX/XX/XXXX I called Transunion to inquire about dispute because it was no longer visible to view on the Transunion website. The lady on the phone verified that one account was already deleted and the other 2 accounts had not responded yet, and they had until XX/XX/XXXX to respond within the 30 days. On XX/XX/XXXX I saw these 2 accounts were still on my report and called at XXXX to ask that they be deleted since the companies didn't respond within 30 days. I was told again by the representative I spoke with that there had been no response to the dispute, but the dispute was over and he couldn't delete the accounts. I asked to speak with a supervisor, XXXX XXXX, and asked him to delete the accounts due to no response. He then said they did respond, even though the previous 2 reps said there had been no response. He refused multiple times to tell me the dates the companies actually responded, and I reiterated that I spoke to them on XX/XX/XXXX and was specifically told there was no response to the disputes at that time. I asked to speak with his supervisor to get this fixed and he said someone would call me back within 3 days. I was contacted on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX by a supervisor. During the conversation I again reiterated that these fraudulent accounts were a result of Identity Theft, and the FCRA ( 605b ) requires them to 'block ' accounts that they have been made aware of are a result of Identity Theft. She then told me that the accounts didn't meet their internal requirements for a 'block '. I asked her what the requirements were, and she refused to tell me, stating that was information they didn't give to consumers. I asked to speak with her supervisor as reporting these accounts was illegal, and was told I was get a call back, which as of XX/XX/XXXX, I still have not. On XX/XX/XXXX I submitted another dispute for the 2 remaining fraudulent accounts on Transunion 's website. I included an updated FTC Identity Theft report, along with their recommended checklist of information, as well as a letter of intent to sue in XXXX XXXX small claims court if these items aren't blocked/removed within the legally required 4 business days ( which would be XX/XX/XXXX ). I have screenshots of the dispute submitted and in progress, but as of XX/XX/XXXX their website shows no evidence of any current or previous disputes at all. This process has already taken 6 weeks and Transunion has now broken the law in regards to FCRA requirements by continuing to report these 2 fraudulent accounts and not removing or blocking these items.
