In XXXX I noticed XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX were showing incorrect accounts that were my ex-husband 's. I contacted them over and over and over again. Writing down names and times. Each time, they said that they were taking care of the issue. I even sent a notarized report they asked me to fill out. That was on XX/XX/XXXX. I received a letter reading that the matter was settled on XX/XX/XXXX. I still called because I could see that it was still on my report. I needed to go to XXXX XXXX to get a job, but couldn't do that without financial aid, which I could not get because of this. Thus, I would call again and again, the last time being told that on XX/XX/XXXX they had told the three credit reporting agencies to remove the account. But each time, they also put a caveat that I must fax in the credit report ( current - not past 60 days ) and then they would remove the problem again by contacting all the agencies. Or I could have the agencies contact them. I did both. And the credit agencies, when I followed up, all stated that they had called that company, but had not received the information requested. I finally gave up at the end of XXXX for school. I figured that the 7 year law would kick in and they would HAVE to follow the law. Still I called and went through all the loops all the way until today. Today I received a denial for my student loan because of this. Thus, I contacted all of the above again. Again I was given the same information, " Oh! It should have been removed. You can fax or mail your most current credit report, not past 60 days ), then we will make sure it's removed. Or you can have the credit agencies call us. '' When I asked them how long this would take, I was told 30-60 days on their end and probably the same for the credit reporting agencies. I stated that was too late. So I called the XXXX financial aid office to explain, but they said they don't have anything to do with it as these are federal loans. I will re-fax and send certified mail as I have in the past and then call. But now, it's past the 7 years, how can they still hold me hostage on the three credit reporting agencies. Now I know why I couldn't receive credit to purchase a car I desperately needed for my job. This is messing up my life for something that I did not do and is now against the law as it should have fallen off XXXX, XXXX for the FCRA and I feel now, that it's hopeless.
