I received a letter in XX/XX/2022 dated XX/XX/2022 from Fair Collections and Outsourcing, XXXX XXXX XXXX, # XXXX, XXXX, MD XXXX, claiming that I owed a debt of {$9300.00} from a lease with " XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX at C '' with unit number XXXX. I have never lived at such a location nor have I ever entered a lease with an entity known as " XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX at C ''. Furthermore, the letter misspelled my name, indicating that the letter is either fraudulent or that the company did not do their due diligence to locate the correct individual. On XX/XX/XXXX I sent a Letter to Fair Collections and Outsourcing stating that this debt is not mine and that I had no dealings with the aforementioned leasing company. I further request that they stop contacting me regarding debt collections until they sent proof that I owed this debt. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX from Fair Collections and Outsourcing stating that " [ my ] account has already been reported by our office or is scheduled to be reported '' to the three national credit reporting bureaus. Fair Collections and Outsourcing ignored my request to provide proof of debt and threatened to report me to the credit bureaus, in violation of federal law.
