I have applied for CapitalOne Venture X card in XXXX this year. My application got approved and I received my card towards the end of XXXX. As soon as I received the card and activated it, I used it immediately. Then, to my surprise, my card was put on restriction right after my first use and I cant use the card since XXXX. However, I got charged for the card annual fee of {$390.00} immediately. I contacted CapitalOne to find out why my card was locked and was requested to submit additional documents for verification. I have provided CapitalOne my New York State driving license, my Social Security card and a copy of bank statement that I have with XXXX XXXX. I banked with XXXX as i have my investments with them. My bank account with XXXX is XXXXXXXX XXXX account. They denied the verification of my bank statement. They told me that the bank statement needs to show either checking or saving accounts. I strongly believe that CapitalOne has not completed the application verification process for my case but rushed to approve my application in order to charge me for the annual fee. If I cant use the card due to the incomplete verification process from CapitalOne, I should not be charged for the service that is not delivered. XXXX XXXX ( ID # XXXX ) insisted that it was fraud. I do not understand how I committed fraud if I applied for a credit card for myself and I have provided all required documents. I dont have any utility bills under my name because I travel out of country a lot so the rent and utility bills are under my friend who I share the apartment with. But I found it is not relevant. For my case, since I cant use the credit card, I have requested for the refund for my annual fee but they refused to refund me the annual fee of the credit card that I am not allowed to use. I would appreciate if you have someone look into my case ( CapitalOne case no. XXXX ) and let me know if there are something you can do. I hope other customers do not have to have unpleasant experience that I have to go through with my experience with CapitalOne. Thank you in advance.
