On XX/XX/2022 I attempted to pull my annual credit reports from annualcreditreport.com. I encountered an error when pulling my Equifax report - receiving a " we can not complete your request at this time. '' However, I was able to pull XXXX and XXXX. I thought that was odd, but decided to go directly to Equifax 's website to try. When I attempted to pull an Equifax report from XXXX, I again encountered an error, " We can't complete your request at this time. Please call the Customer Care team. '' When I called Customer Service and asked for assistance they stated that I was not able to pull my report because " my credit profile was missing a verified birth date. '' When I asked for more information and an explanation for how this could have occurred the representative stated that a lender must have submitted a different birth date and/or different information. When I asked more questions about how it's possible for a lender to revise or influence this information- which I found to be concerning- they could not give me a reasonable explanation. The rep said that they would input my birth date but that the change could take up to 30 days. When I stated that waiting 30 days for my report was unacceptable- especially seeing as this seemed to be an issue on their end- they stated that there was " nothing they could do. '' I asked to speak with a supervisor to get further clarity as to how this had happened and which lender caused the issue. The supervisor I spoke to again echoed that there was nothing I can do and that I had to wait. They also then told me that I needed to send a copy of my drivers license, birth certificate, and some other document to verify my birth date. I stated again that it was concerning that a lender supplied information that resulted in Equifax deleting my date of birth or having inaccurate information. When I protested this, the supervisor backed off and stated that it wasn't necessary for me to send additional information to verify my birth. I am incredibly concerned by this issue - that a lender somehow changed how my personal information is reported, but also that this is preventing me from accessing extremely important and time-sensitive information. At current, there are inaccuracies that are only showing up on my Equifax report and not the other credit reporting agencies. These inaccuracies are causing me serious financial issues since it's resulting in me being declined for a loan and my pre-qualifications for a mortgage is in jeopardy. I can't afford to wait 30 days to dispute the information on my report. I requested a complaint be filed, which the supervisor submitted, but I have concerns about it being dealt with appropriately.
