The original creditor was XXXX ( this is to amend an earlier report that inaccurately listed the original creditor ). Due to financial hardship ( loss of jobs ) in approximately XXXX, I could not continue the payment on the account. It was sent to Morgan and Associates in XXXX XXXX. I was repeatedly harrassed, the debt inflated quickly, but I eventually reached a settlement agreement with Morgan & Associates that I repeattedly told them was beyond what I could pay. They still insisted and set up an automatic bank withdrawal via post-dated checks. I called after every payment to indicate that I could not make the next payment. When the last payment was due, I did not have the funds and could not come up with the funds. I called to let them know, they drafted anyway, and it bounced. When I tried calling to set up some way to make the last payment, they told me I was out of luck and that I would be responsible for the entire debt before the settlement because I failed to make the payment. I didn't hear from them for quite a while until I became aware of a default judgment against me in XXXX. They had served the renter of our property, and I never received the summons. Earlier this year, I received a call indicating they would like to discuss the matter. With over a decade since the original conversations, I asked that they send me documentation in writing instead of an inflated value over the phone of an amount that is quite larger than the original debt and the judgment. I have yet to receive anything. It has been months. I would like this matter settled in a fair and accurate way as soon as possible.
