Good evening, I see that XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX sent an account to collections that doesn't belong to me, and I believe that I'm a victim of identity theft. They are saying that I had a XXXX XXXX for {$2500.00} that doesn't belong to me. I can prove that this isn't my account because my credit score wasn't high enough to obtain a credit card from XXXX XXXXXXXX in XXXX for an amount that is this high. I've attached a copy of the identity theft report from identitytheft.gov. I also added some pdf 's from the Equifax Credit report saying that this account is on my credit report as of today XX/XX/XXXX even though it should not be. I also added a copy of my U.S. Passport and my social security card in an attempt to prove my identity. I'm going to also mail in a paper copy of this complaint to Equifax to make sure to they receive my complaint about this account that should deleted from my credit report.
