I have a joint account with family friend. His balance was XXXX for months. He deposit a cash in the ATM machine for {$19000.00} on XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX, he walks into the bank asking for a withdrawal. The teller tells him he can only get {$8000.00}. He received that and walks out the bank. I get a call the same day saying what occurred earlier.I asked why didn't you contacted me before you gave him the funds. She said his name was on the account. It turned out the check bounced and was stolen. I'm confused because the same way they called me hours later to ell me what happened, they could have called me before they gave him the money. Anyway, I spoke to the person who did this and he said the people who convinced him to do this told him they know someone who worked in the bank..He has text message about this entire situation. I have partial text messages but he showed me in his messages the person said, " we know someone in the bank '' ..... Prior, to this happening, I went into the bank asking them to remove this person off my account and they never did.Now, they are telling me I'm liable for the bounce check of {$8000.00}
