I received a pre-approved offer from XXXX XXXX visa on XX/XX/22. I applied for this and was approved on XX/XX/22 ( or so I thought ). I received my card on XX/XX/22 and activated it that same day. I set up my account on the website and attempting to set up my PIN # I was informed through the website that the account was closed and would/ could not be reopened. I was a little shocked at this. I contacted the bank who informed me ( rudely I might add ) that after reviewing my credit report the account was permanently closed. Thank goodness I didnt try to use it since that would have been very embarrassing. After conversations with a representative and a supervisor I was told that the account would not be placed on my report as that was my main concern. On XX/XX/22 I have once again received a PRE APPROVAL letter from Comenity Bank on behalf of XXXX XXXX for a Visa card. Once again I contacted the bank with no success. Today, XX/XX/22, I was notified that there was a new account on my report from XXXX XXXX XXXX. So again I contacted the bank who is refusing to remove this from my credit report. They did say they would be reporting the account as closed by lender which as you well know will be a derogatory blemish on my report. I do not think it is fair that my credit be dinged for an account that I never had access to. I am requesting that this account be removed from my file entirely. I made the suggestion to this bank to reword their offers. Pre approved is just that, not that I am invited to apply. They gave me an acceptance code??? Please help me so that my credit doesnt suffer from something I have NO CONTROL over.
