To Whom It May Concern, On XX/XX/21, I received a letter ( attached ) from XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX. which stated that they had retained the debt from Westlake Financial in the amount of {$1400.00}. The letter was a receipt sent stating that they accepted a settlement amount of {$1000.00} to satisfy the obligation of the full debt. I have also attached a copy of my most recent credit report for Westlake Financial which states that the balance is {$1400.00} and continues to be in a derogatory status. It is my understanding that when Westlake Financial transferred my debt to XXXX XXXX, that they were required under the law to update their tradeline as {$0.00}. It has more than 6 months since this debt was settled, but the information has not been updated. This is causing my credit scores harm, as well as my Debt to Income as I am trying to purchase a home. ( My lender has advised me that a percentage of the chargeoff balance is added to my XXXX, which lowers my buying power. )
