Our house burned in a Tennessee wildfire. Insurance payment was sent to Fairway Mortgage / XXXX in early XXXX. It was {$240000.00}. Mortgage balance is {$150000.00}. At first we wanted to rebuild and keep mortgage, but Fairway would not release overage to us. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was fed up and sent a letter requesting payoff. As of XX/XX/XXXX, it is still not paid off. I call every day and they tell me it is processing and will be paid off soon. Even once it is paid off, they tell me I will not receive payment of my portion for another 30 days. This just seems wrong, and I don't know what to do to get them to pay off my mortgage and release the equity money to me.
