During the closing/lending approval process, all documents from lender ( New American Funding ) were electronically sent and signed. Included in the breakdown of all fees, there was a " seller/lender credit '' listed at - {$7500.00}. Before I signed, I deliberately asked the lending officer what that was. I was told " just sign the documents so we can continue moving forward ''. As the time came closer, I received a call from the underwriter stating the funds needed at closing was far greater than showing on the documents I signed. The underwriter looped in the lending officer into a three way call back on Wednesday XX/XX/XXXX. When asked about the " credit '' the lending officer stated he listed that on the loan document as a way to make it thru underwriting without having to validate the entire closing cost amount was available in my cash accounts. I was never informed of this at any point in the process until the moment I was " blind-sided '' by the underwriter. I was then told by the lending officer I was either responsible for coming up with the money or I would be denied the mortgage loan. I feel very strongly I was misled and information listed on the lending documents was fraudulent in order to get a loan approved. I then reached out to the Regional Manager of New American Funding on Thursday with a return call from him on Friday XX/XX/XXXX and he proceeded to stand up for his employee stating " he made a mistake and there was nothing they can do for me ''.
