On XX/XX/2022, I received in the mail a debit card for a checking account that I did not open with XXXX XXXX. I called XXXX XXXX Fraud Department and informed them that this was fraudulent activity and to please close the account. The account is showing on my credit report with Transunion as being an active, valid account. XXXX XXXX would not disclose any information as to the email or phone number listed to the account. I asked them to inform me when the account had been removed from my name and they said they would send an email to the email address listed on file. Duh. So the person that fraudulently opened this account is going to be receiving the email. Being the victim of identity theft and having to work with the IRS, SSA, and the credit bureaus, this is the very last problem I need.
