Consumer Narrative
I requested debt validation via certified letter on XX/XX/2022. I gave 30 days notice for the company to respond and provide me with the information that I requested. I received no response. On XX/XX/2022, I received a phone call from a third party debt collection agency. The representative stated that this was an attempt to collect a debt on the behalf of the loan agency. I let the representative know that this account was in dispute, and that I was recording the conversation. The representative proceeded to hang up. I then sent a second letter of debt validation via certified mail on XX/XX/2022 requesting the same information from the third party debt collection company. I also gave this company the courtesy of a 30 day period to provide me in writing with validation of the alleged debt, a true bill of the alleged amount they say I owe them, and a completed corporate government employee questionnaire. In my letters for debt validation, I asked to be addressed only via mail in writing. The third party debt collection company completely ignored my request in my letter to not be contacted via email, phone, etc. Instead, I have received numerous emails from the third party collection company, which began on XX/XX/2022. The email sent to me on XX/XX/2022 stated that they had somehow finished processing my dispute, and that we have confirmed that you owe the ( alleged ) amount of {$680.00} '' with the original loan company. There was a link attached to this email that stated I could access my debt validation documentation here. The link took me to a screen that said We've verified that you owe this balance. The same page also stated that This concludes the dispute process.. There are 2 files on this screen, file 1 is very vague and only lists a principal amount, interest, fees, late charges, and a total balance. Nowhere on this screen does it indicate what this alleged debt is for, and to whom it is owed. Nowhere on this screen does it indicate that this debt belongs to me. This is not proof of VALIDATION of this alleged debt. The second file shows an alleged loan agreement, which does not satisfy my request for a TRUE BILL and validation of the alleged debt. The email sent to me on XX/XX/2022 states they are following up with the balance verification for my alleged account with the original loan company. I have received three more emails to the same effect, dated XX/XX/2022, XX/XX/2022, and most recently, XX/XX/2022. The third party debt collection company continues to ignore my requests, and the company has failed to provide me with validated debt that they claim I owe them. The third party debt collection company continues to harass me via email every week, and the company continues to provide inaccuracies, unverified, and invalidated debt to credit reporting.
