I have had a credit card with Menards for many years. A short time ago they changed their credit card to Capitol One. I have always paid my bill in full when it is due. XXXX to me not only do I have a due date but there is also a set time which is eastern standard time to pay my bill. I was not aware of this requirement until last month. When I paid my bill the automated system told me it was paid late and I would be assessed a late fee and interest. I then looked at my bill closer and realized I had been charged a XXXX late fee and XXXX dollars in interest. I called in to complain and the rep credited the late fee showing on my XXXX bill. I received my XXXX bill which had no purchase charges just the late fee and interest from my pament made on XX/XX/2022. This is a predatory practice. My due date ends at XXXX. I should not have to deal with a card imposed time frame which is created to generate late fees and interest. The imposed time is XXXXXXXX XXXX.They refused to refund thecurrent late fee and interest on my XXXX bill. They also would not tell me which government agency I could file a complaint with. They were generally XXXX. I want my refund and then I will be cancelling my account. I appreciate your assistance with this matter.
