Consumer Narrative

On XX/XX/2021, I received {$50.00} for a lamp that a woman purchased from me. Her son picked it up the same day without issues. After a week she started complaining that the lamp took out her entire apartments fuses and that it is faulty. I claimed that the lamp had been working fine and literally plugged out and gave it to her son. I told her, I can take back the lamp and replace it with another that I also had ( I was selling both, she just needed one ). She started claiming that me and my wife are scary people and she wouldnt want to deal with us and is scared to meet us. I told her, she doesnt have to meet us, she can drop the lamp off with my buildings front desk and we will reverse the transaction. She kept insisting meeting at the police station which I didnt want to have to deal with ( she could throw a tantrum and wed have no way to defend ourselves and it didnt seem worth for {$50.00} ). So we said if she cant return it the way she picked it up, we cant reverse the money to her. She has paid me through Venmo on XX/XX/2021. On XX/XX/XXXX I noticed that XXXX dollar had been deducted from my account by Venmo. I tried to reach them in any which way possible to see how they could conduct a transaction on my behalf without my consent. After reviewing the case they told me that Venmo is meant for friends and family who trust each other to transfer money between. This should also apply to the woman who made this claim and based on her account of events, Venmo shouldnt also have the right to reverse this transaction without my consent. I have raised 2 dispute cases with Venmo and each time they told me I was in the wrong.
