I had a credit card with Avant ( last four numbers of the card were XXXX ). I always made monthly payments, electronically, through XXXX XXXX XXXX. For some mysterious reasons, even when I scheduled payments BEFORE the due date, Avant always marked them as late payments, and charged me a fee. I contacted Avant numerous times. They had no explanation. They would then take 2-3 weeks to credit the account. I contacted them several times about this. They had no explanation as to why this was. I got frustrated, and closed the account after 90 days. They still charged me an annual fee. On Saturday XX/XX/2022 at XXXX XXXX I spoke with an Avant rep named XXXX XXXX about refunding the annual fee - since I'd only had the card such a short time, and since their customer service was so poor ( and perhaps dishonest ). She said that it was impossible to refund the annual fee or the amount of the annual fee. She was trying to tell me, a bank can't refund a fee. She offered NO explanation as to why Avant could not do that. T The simple fact is, she was lying to me. Avant engages in dishonest practices, overcharges customers for fees, then lies about it.
