There is an open collections account from CONSUMER ADJUSTMENT that was added to my Equifax credit report on XX/XX/XXXX. This was a credit card account that was closed XXXX days ago on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. This is an attempt to re-age the account and prolong its presence on my credit report. I have disputed and had the account removed from the other 2 credit bureaus, but Equifax refuses to acknowledge the data I have provided in my disputes and reaffirms the fraudulent claims by this unscrupulous debt collector. Even though this account is over the 7.5 years when it should be removed from my report, this collections agency has reported the debt as being opened XXXX. This date is over 7 years after the account was closed and they've simply reported the age as the date they acquired the debt. I previously disputed this account and successfully had it removed from Equifax as well, but this collections company has purchased debt that is older than 7.5 years and has tried to re-age the account to ensure it stays on my report to try and collect debt they bought for pennies on the dollar. Both Equifax and CONSUMER ADJUSTMENT ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX - Original creditor ) are in violation of The Fair Credit Billing Act ( FCBA ). I have disputed this account multiple times and have tried to contact the original creditor and collections company to no avail.
