Consumer Narrative
I sent a letter dated XX/XX/2022 with accompanying documents to all three credit bureaus via Certified Mail asking to change my name and XXXX XXXX ( where applicable ) in all of their systems. I specifically requested that my name be reflected in my credit information, including my online accounts as neither credit bureau lets you update it yourself or online. I spoke with each credit bureau separately to get the current instructions to update my name and XXXX XXXX in their system and included every piece of information they asked for in this letter and I made the same specific requests I listed above in my letter. I also included copies of my court order approving my name/XXXX XXXXr, my driver license, a pay stub, and a bank statement. None of the bureaus let you go through the dispute process to do this. About a month or two later ( unfortunately, I don't remember the exact date. ) I got a random credit report in the mail with zero explanation of my dispute. I saw that my legal name was listed in my report and that was it. To date, I have not received a single piece of information about my dispute, what was done about it, conclusion of it, etc. I have no idea what is going on with my information. When I log into my online accounts, it still has my dead name on my accounts and it is very frustrating and distressing to see it when it should an easy fix. Throughout this process, I have received random emails about a " dispute resolution '' from XXXX with a reference code to log in and access the information. Every single time I try to read this alleged " resolution '' it always says that it can not provide with the information. It is absurd. The credit bureaus have integrated all other changes to my contact information from my banks, yet refuse to update my name when I updated it with my banks. I feel discriminated against as a XXXX person that my information is being treated differently than other consumers. I am baffled and incensed that three major credit bureaus can not manage to provide direct, decipherable information when they require extremely sensitive and private information from consumers. For example, I have been trying to submit an online dispute on XXXXXXXX XXXX website for the past week and a half and the webpage doesn't work, so the only option is to call them, which is impossible and useless. Consumers have the right to submit disputes, especially in ways that are accessible to all consumers.
