On XX/XX/2022, I received two thick envelopes from my mortgage servicer, BOK Financial, informing me that I was in default and had 90 days to cure it or else they would begin foreclosure proceedings. This was the first correspondence I had indicating that anything was wrong with my account. After calling them the following day, I learned that after a single bank overdraft in early XXXX, BOK Financial turned off my automatic mortgage payments and did not inform me of that change. As a result, I was suddenly three months behind on my mortgage payments and thus at risk of foreclosure. BOK Financial insisted that they had mailed me multiple letters and called me several times, but the foreclosure warning envelopes were the first sign that anything was wrong. A person claiming to be from BOK Financial had called me the previous week, but asked to confirm the last four digits of my SSN -- believing it to be a scam, I simply hung up. I find it frustrating and suspicious that BOK Financial claims that they could not get ahold of me for three months and yet was able to deliver a foreclosure warning right on time. Not once did anyone leave a voicemail, send an e-mail, or send a text message. I'm XXXX XXXX XXXX ; I rarely pick up the phone if it's a number I don't recognize, but I'm on e-mail all day, and BOK Financial was able to send me multiple e-mail notifications of secure messages throughout my complaint process after the fact. Even though I immediately paid the past-due mortgage payments plus fees the day after receiving the first notice, the " late payments '' have already shown up as a negative mark on my credit report -- despite the fact that I have never once missed a payment previously in more than seven years of ownership. Aside from waiving a single late fee, BOK Financial claims they can not do anything else to resolve this situation. I cordially request the CFPB 's help in righting this wrong. For reference, I have complained multiple times to BOK Financial via their online portal, submitted disputes with two of the three major credit bureaus, and plan on submitting an additional complaint in writing via mail to BOK Financial.
