Equifax and XXXX have made getting a free, online credit report more difficult in recent years. After entering all required information to receive my report, I invariably get a message that I must contact customer service for my report. However, I can contact them only during limited weekday hours, and my calls seldom get through after long wait times. XXXX all but compels consumers to ask for paper copies of credit reports, because they no longer allow me to receive and download digital copies. Getting my free credit reports from these two agencies was not a problem prior to 2018, but they now require consumers to jump through multiple hoops to get what was previously easy to obtain. Enough!
