Consumer Narrative

TCF Bank on XX/XX/2020 had begun to make multiple errors on my account and these errors took place until XX/XX/2020. My account information was stolen mobile account was hacked and my account went from being positive over XXXX XXXX dolllars to being negative over {$6500.00} when all these errors were finally accrued by TCF Bank and FINALLY denied access to the fraudulent errors taking place. I had TCF for almost two years, my account was never negative before this month long incident. It was always above XXXX XXXXXXXX dollars and I had my employment being directly deposited into my account every two weeks. I noticed the errors on XX/XX/2020. Called the bank right away and due to it being after hours and that there waas such a large ammount and multiple fraudulent transactions done by mobile transactions, forced deposits, overdraft fees in the multiple when my account was not even negative and all in a row for {$37.00} stating they were rent/utilities/water payments but labeled overdraft fee when my account was positive al, XXXX XXXX grand. there were quite a few {$20.00} charges from random places? I am guessing the criminal was trying to see if i had funds available? Then the larger " forced deposits '' started coming in at {$2900.00}, {$1200.00}, {$1500.00}, ect. My account went from positive {$3700.00} to negative over {$6500.00} within a matter of days, My biggest peeve with TCF is that they continued to let these errors occur even after I disputed a ton of charges at the branch with the manager and assistant managers, they said they had " froze/closed '' my acct. on XX/XX/XXXXbut charges took place until XX/XX/2020. They opened a new account and within a matter of 24 hrs that account had a fraudulent check posted to it and luckily, i called right away and it should have not been on my fault at all. Somehow, TCF who is now merged with Huntington Bank and I have been fightimg with both until recently to get my money back and just about two weeks ago got two separate letters stating I owe Huntington Bank {$3400.00} for my first account and {$1900.00} for the second account which no funds were ever dispersed out of the second acct.? so how would i owe for funds that were not even taken? in the midst of all this, I lost the initial {$3700.00} my account started at, plus another {$2200.00} my unemployment had deposited, my employer deposited {$1100.00} and I had a retail store refund from XXXX of alost XXXX XXXXXXXX dollars?! so i am out {$7.00} XXXX and my account XXXXis still negative and they want me to pay almost XXXX XXXX due to errors made by their faulty security system that kept dispursing forced deposited funds and then withdrawn after i told them they were being done fraudulently?! This has been a nightmare due to TCF taking their sweet time saying they are going as fast as possible to resolve my account and refund after calling them for the 30th time in a year and a half but using their merger as an excuse. TCF knew they were in the wrong and handled the security of my acct completely illegally because they even posted a security change and update to their mobile accounts on XX/XX/2020 which I have documented. Then Huntington didnt even contact me when the merger went through. They sent me mail to my house about my new account being opened and transfered from TCF to them, but no phone calls or emails about the money they owed me?? I had to call and email multiple times because they couldnt find my old TCF or new Huntington account for over a month with the merger. I had to visit the in store branch of where i opened my tcf account which was now Huntington Bank multiple times, requested all my info from my accounts and bank statements and that i wanted all my info right away! I exchanged a ton of emails and phone calls with the branch assistant manager. He could not locate any of my information about any of my accounts or money that was and still is owed too me! They never even brought up my second opened account at TCF after the first one was completely screwed. Then, when they finally do find my first initial TCF account, their lead fraud dept. head steps in and takes over because she knows she needs to handle it because they are in legal hot water now, calls me and says due to my police report that wasn't even about the bank, it was about my car being broke into at a public store on XX/XX/2020 and my purse being stolen along with all my cards and identifying info with my old cell phone. I make the comment to her saying " maybe they got the account info from my old phone that was stolen from my car months previous to these errors and used my account from there? '' just making a way out of left field statement just pretty much stating I have no clue how they would have gotten into my account??? Huntington Bank uses that statement and says " I dont see in the report where it states your old cellular device was stolen with your purse so we cant refund your money. '' THAT WAS THEIR REASONING FOR NOT REFUNDING MY ONLY MONEY I HAD TO TAKE CARE OF MY HOUSE AND XXXX LITTLE GIRLS!!! So then i got the letters from Huntington stating I owe the money. Which the second account that no funds were ever drawn out of Huntinmgton had no idea it even exhisted nor did they tell me they knew or found it, and making it seem like its for a loan or credit line I had with them. It says the ammount due info is on the back of both statements. you turn it over and there is no information there as to why, when or who i owe this money to or for? They are scam artists that dont want to pay for their mistakes.
