I am reaching out because I am at a complete loss right now. I am attempting to get a mortgage and my credit reports show I have XXXX missed payments to my student loans. When I investigated this further it shows I have XXXX missed payments from XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX missed payments from XX/XX/XXXX. I disputed this with the credit agencies and they came back and stated that they verified the information and they can not remove it. I then requested my student loan status history. For all XXXX of the reported missed payments I was in economic hardship deferment. I was in deferment XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX and also XX/XX/XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX. The missed payments being reported fall within these times of deferment. I wrote a letter and attached supporting information to XXXX and they wrote a letter back stating that I am still responsible for the missed payment and they can not retract the negative mark from my credit. I have been so stressed out about this! It does not seem fair that while I was in economic hardship deferment they can " kick me while I'm down ''. I then called XXXX XXXX reporting line on XX/XX/XXXX right before I wrote this email and while the guy I spoke with understood and agreed with what I was saying the only advice he could offer me was to write a letter to XXXX. I explained that I did that already and he stated there was nothing he could do. I am hoping that you can help me get this resolved or point me in the right direction. I am a single mother and have two small kids and I really just want to provide a house, a place they can grow up, and I am being haunted by missed payments that should never have been reported in the first place.
