On XX/XX/2022 I sent a dispute letter to Equifax requesting that they delete some personal information from my credit report that was either old or didn't belong to me. Attached along with this letter I also sent a copy of my drivers license and social security card as required but still to this day Equifax claims to have never received my letter, although I sent it certified mail and I have the digital receipt of delivery and pickup, which I will attach to this complaint. I eventually went online and got those personal items removed after not hearing anything back from Equifax for over a month but this was not the end. Not only has Equifax claiming to have never received my letter caused me emotional stress out of fear that my personal information has landed in the wrong hands, but also financial stress as I have been paying for identity monitoring services that I never would have had any need for or interest in if it was not for Equifax losing my letter with my drivers license and social security card. I have been in the process of locating a consumer protection attorney in my area as I full heartedly intend to take this matter to court but I hope that this can assist in the process, as I can not even dispute further with Equifax because they claim to never have received my 2 forms of identification the first time that I sent it so now they will not investigate my disputes at all, which I have proof of because they sent me a letter asking for me to send the forms of ID well after I already did, and I definitely am not resending my information just for it to be " lost '' once again. I have called them multiple times and have spoken with supervisors and each time they refuse to take responsibility or thoroughly investigate what happened. What makes this situation even worse is I sent the exact same 2 forms of identification to XXXX and XXXX as well and had absolutely no problems.
