In XXXX someone with the same name opened utility account and their account went to collections. They reached out to me and I was threatened into paying off the debt at the risk of ruining my perfect credit. They did not inform me of my right to dispute the account and forced me to give them my credit card information. I paid off the debt on XX/XX/XXXX. Earlier this year I was made aware of my right to challenge the validity of any debt so I sent this company a certified letter on XX/XX/XXXX, they received this letter on XX/XX/XXXX. The letter sent to them was a request they validate this debt. They sent me back a contract with absolutely no information belonging to me except the name that states " XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) '', I have no knowledge of a XXXX XXXX in my family, sibling or relative. I have never lived at the address on the report they provided me, the phone number on the report has never been a number of mine, every signature on the report they provided me is not of my name, in fact the signature on the report belongs to a XXXX XXXX. They have failed to validate this debt and need to delete it from my reports. The only information they have that ties me to this account is my credit card information they got from me at the time of the collection to pay off this debt. I used my own money to pay for someone else 's debt.
