I received a letter from Comenity Capital Bank, regarding me to finish processing my XXXX XXXX credit card application. I called the XXXX number on the letter, which connected me to a female representative with the Account Protection Team. At no time did the representative mention that the conversation was being recorded, which was unusual for a member of a loss/fraud department. I explained that I did not open a credit card application and wanted to know how, where and when the application was opened? I was told she wouldn't be able to until I provided her with so information. The representative asked for the number below the date on the letter, which I provided. Next, she asked that I verify my first and last name, along with my address which I did. Next she asked for my DOB and SS number. I asked why and she indicated that she needed it to verify my information. When I refused, she provided me with an XXXX number to an unspecified credit bureau and disconnected. Prior to receiving my letter, I received no credit alerts from any bureaus.
