I have a credit card with Indigo. At the beginning of the year the monthly fee was applied which was XXXX. I forgot about it and my card went over the XXXX limit. The new balance was now XXXX. On XXXX XXXX I made a payment of XXXX which would leave a balanced owed of XXXX. The payment cleared on XXXX XXXX, because it was after noon when I made the payment and they only use bank accounts to receive payments. I stopped at a gas station on XXXX XXXX and I was told my card was declined. When I called to check my balance, it was stating my balance was XXXX. I spoke with a representative and was told my card was placed on hold pending verification that the payment made would clear and I would not be able to use my card again until XX/XX/2022. I informed them that the payment cleared on XX/XX/XXXX so it has been fully verified that the funds are good. I have never submitted a payment to them that did not clear. I was then informed that yes they did clear and was on their end that they were holding the payments. So I stated, you mean to tell me that you have the funds, you just verified that you are holding them on your end and I can not use my card again until the XXXX of XXXX and the only thing you have updated in your system is the made payment? There is nothing in your system showing my account is on hold. But the negative XXXX is showing and my balance is XXXX. The first representative actually laughed and stated " well its not with everyone its just yours. '' I said excuse me. I got off of the phone and called another representative which stated they've been doing this since the company has been established and if I would have made a smaller payment and not a payment of XXXX my account would not have been placed on hold. I informed him when I made the payment of XXXX and something the year prior, they did not place my account on hold. And he said no they didn't. We just do it sometimes, we never know when and it just so happened this is your first time. I told him, so you guys have my payment and it has been verified but you're not updating my account in the system nor to the credit bureaus and you're not allowing me to have use of my card until XXXX XXXXHe stated that is correct. I said this is some fraudulent stuff you guys are doing and I received no warning and your stating it is because I paid a higher amount. So if I paid a lower amount, i wouldn't have a hold and he stated that I was correct. So i asked if I pay the remaining XXXX will there be a hold and he stated I wouldn.t know that until you paid it. This can not be legal.
