Consumer Narrative
I have always made an effort to pay my mortgage on time. I have a FHA mortgage that I signed on XXXX of XXXX. Starting on XX/XX/XXXX I was placed on a non-paid medical leave. I immediately enrolled in my mortgage companies ' Wells Fargo Covid Payment Extension/Home Preservation Program . They provide forbearance for Covid-related medical financial hardships. I qualified. On XX/XX/XXXX I applied for the US Treasury funded/ Homeowner 's Assistance Program/RI Housing program to help me with my mortgage. I submitted my tax returns from XXXX and XXXX and I had no recent paystubs to submit because I've had no income since XX/XX/XXXX due to non-paid medical leave from work. As of yet I am still not back to work and my doctor has not released me to return to work. My complaint is that the US Treasury has funded RI Housing and Wells Fargo with this program for people just like me and want them to use the funds to please help me to bring my mortgage up to date. That has not happened. RI Housing is claiming that my application to the Homeowner Assistance Fund is being held up by Wells Fargo since XX/XX/XXXX when they tried to contact them. But Wells Fargo mortgage, on the other hand is saying, that as of XX/XX/XXXX no one from RI Housing XXXXXXXX has tried to contact them in regards to my Homeowner Assistance Fund application that I completed on XX/XX/XXXX through RI Housing online application portal ( see documents attached below for proof ). As a result of this tug of war between RI Housing and Wells Fargo the Homeowner Assistance Fund in my state is running low and I may not reap the benefits of the program. The program is meant to target people exactly like me ( low-income Afro-latina homeowners ).
