I was offered an opportunity to transfer deposits for a church in exchange for getting paid. I was emailed checks on XXXX Thursday XX/XX/XXXX and told to transfer the money the next day at XXXX. I got nervous since I was pretty sure it was a scam and didnt know what to do so I did as they said, and later the next day XX/XX/XXXX, the checks were processed and they were not connected to a bank account. The money had showed up as credit in the morning but werent actually worth anything. I transferred the money I thought I had through Zelle and XXXX, and lost {$5000.00}.
