On XX/XX/2022 I contacted the debt collection company by the name of 'Credit Control Corporation ' to receive information about a debt they claim I owe and a possible settlement agreement. Specifically, I talked to their 'XXXX XXXX ' department. The debt amount in question is {$170.00}. After talking to the caller over the phone they told me that they would be able to agree to a settlement of about {$100.00}. So instead of paying the {$170.00} I would only need to pay {$100.00}. I agreed to pay the amount of {$100.00} to settle the debt, however, when I requested for them to send me a written agreement they said that they wouldn't be able to send me a written agreement and I would have to make due with a verbal agreement and give them my payment information over the phone. I decided not to pay at that moment. I wish to pay off this debt in full at the agreed amount, however, I believe they are acting in bad faith and do not trust that they will only charge me {$100.00} to end the debt once I give them my payment information.
