Consumer Narrative

Google Pay has been holding {$.00} of my money for years now, and the company continues to offer me no option to get to that money to use it. It may not be a large amount of money, but it is the principle of the matter. No company should be allowed to act like a bank and also not held accountable as banks are held accountable. If it waddles like a duck, if it has webbed feet like a duck, if it quacks like a duck, and if it has feathers like a duck, it is most likely a duck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Treat these online payment servers like the banks they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am fed up with my government 's regulatory agencies letting these tech companies get away with consumer fraud, simply because Washington bureaucrats haven't figured out how to define the companies. Stop waiting. We are being nickeled and dimed to death out here in the real world, by the companies you are so afraid of offending. Stop it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have written you people, repeatedly, about similar issues. I had thousands stolen from me by a fraudster, with whom I transacted in good faith, using my credit card, at great expense to me, when asked to send money through XXXX XXXX. I spent that extra money on credit card transaction fees because I expected that I would have some fraud protection with my bank, XXXX. But because you people do not do anything about it, XXXX colludes with XXXX XXXX - owned by XXXX XXXX, at known enabler of American fascists- to deny me the fraud protection it advertises to me in order to entice me to pay Chase {$95.00} per year for the privilege of using its XXXX credit card! You are allowing that kind of XXXX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stop sitting back in your shabby but relatively comfortable offices in DC- I know where your offices are, because I interviewed there more than once, because I was considered " best qualified '' in the bogus process you and XXXX use to lie to the public about your fairness and freedom from nepotism, but I digress. Stop letting these companies prey on American consumers. Actually do what your name implies, and protect us from this XXXX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want you to hold Google accountable for the fact that it continues to hold my money, no matter how small the amount, without offering me any real option to get to it so that I can use it. Every day that money becomes less and less valuable ; and inflating it out of existence is not what you should be allowing Google to do to me. Google is able to make a lot of money, every day, by sweeping all the money it is holding and refusing to return to consumers in and out of bank accounts every day. All while those same consumers CAN NOT GET ACCESS TO THAT MONEY TO USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am tired of hearing nothing from the CFPB when I make complaints like these. I am fed up with the CFPB doing nothing to support me in my demands. If the CFPB is as useful as XXXX on a boar, then maybe its time to shut the bureau down and stop wasting money paying a huge pile of attorneys with expensive law degrees to push paper. So, the ball is in your court, person working for the CFPB. Do you actually do something to make me happy, or do you continue to quake in your boots when trying to figure out how to regulate tech companies that are acting like banks, credit card clearing companies, and loan companies? I'm betting on the latter, because God forbid anyone in any part of the DC bureaucracy do the right thing and demand that their managers and political appointees actually enforce the mission of your departments, agencies, bureaus, corporations or commissions. And don't think I do not know that you are sitting back and smugly thinking, I don't have to pay this XXXX a single amount of attention. That is what I fully expect from you, and that is precisely why people rioted at the Capitol on XX/XX/2021. Don't think for a second that tRump and all his minions, allies, and puppeteers did not find actual complaints members of the American public have against their federal government 's bureaucracy that they could manipulate to enflame that crowd of rioters. It wasn't all just XXXX and XXXX and sXXXX Our federal government has not worked for " normal '' Americans for a long time. Even our current president admits to that, when he touts his proposals. Step outside your comfort zone and try to do something this time. Google is acting like a credit card clearing service, or even one of those companies that issues payment cards in this instance. Make Google follow the same rules you enforce on those companies. If I have a balance on a gift card or payment card, you make the company that issued it let me use up the entire balance. Make Google let me use that {$.00}!
