XXXX XXXXXXXX-2022 I attempted to place a credit freeze with Experian. They were unable to honor the security freeze. They want me to mail copies of a governmental issued ID and utility bill, bank or insurance statement and the original info I submitted. My other option was to request a " credit lock '' for a fee. It was difficult to find the credit freeze option. It has the appearance of making it difficult for someone to obtain the protection without having to pay Experian. Note : XXXX and XXXX were able to process my freeze request immediately.
