On XX/XX/2021 Reported fraud transactions that was not made by me or my spouse, then it kept going till XXXX XXXX! Called Amex again and asked them why are there more charges?? Well the person I spoke to on XX/XX/XXXX guess never closed the card and issue new card. Theyre were tota 8 transactions to a company that was in a different country. Youre talking about few thousand within 4 day time frame. Called American Express and reported, they credited back all 8 transactions. Then XX/XX/2021 out of the XXXX charges, 6 of them were charged back and have to pay. I reached out to Amex and asked them to reconfirm and the live chat customer service assured me that all 8 are credited back and I would not be charged. Then reached out again and ask them why only 2 transaction out of the 8 were disputed, which doesnt make sense! Who ever had placed the 8 disputes had obviously did it wrong and file all as unauthorized, but 2 transactions. All 8 transactions were unauthorized charges with same problem, same story, from same person, but only 2 got disputed. Makes no sense. I called multiple times and was told they re-opened for further investigation. Then had called asked for status and got the run around and was told again would need to re-open for investigation from back office. Which means the first time it was never re-open for investigation. Every time I call back for status, they keep saying have to wait and get answers from back office. Was in middle of buying a house and we couldnt have this high balance our credit report, by the time we had to close on our house. The lender would not approve and we could not close on the house unless we pay Amex off in full. So we had no choice but to pay what was outstanding, plus XXXX that was supposedly still under investigation. We have yet heard from Amex and was so tired and overwhelmed. Finally closed on our house and because of this, it have hurt us bad which caused us short on funds to take care of other bills. Then Amex lowered our credit limit due to other high balance/payment issue. Well guess what? Amex you are the caused how I started to fall behind. Below are the dates and amount of transactions. We have been with Amex for years and never have had experience with such bad customer service until this past year. Had ran out of energy to fight and gave up until I found out about how I can repot to consumer complaint and had no idea could do that till now.
