Have had a Kohl 's credit card for years, the card has always been on auto pay. I was ill last month so didn't check my statement. Today I received a letter from Kohl 's saying that they had temporarily suspended my account due to non payment. I tried to log onto the account and was unable to, so I called the number on the letter, made the payment of {XXXX}, asked why it was no longer on auto pay and was told that since I had a XXXX balance a few months ago it kicked me off of auto pay. I asked how I was supposed to know that and didn't receive an answer. Asked to have the late fees removed and they agreed. Asked how I could access my account and was transferred to customer service where I was told that someone had manually taken me off of auto pay, wasn't me I would have no reason to do that. Asked why I couldn't access my account as all the info I entered was correct and was told that they had sent a new card to me in XXXX and I would have to use those numbers. Explained that I did not receive a new card and if they had sent out a new card how was it I was able to use the old one? Was told that I could always use the old one which made no sense. Asked for a supervisor was basically told that they always let you use the old card in case you want to give it to a relative to use. So theoretically you could have several old cards laying around and give them to others to use. ( who does that? ) Told me that they sent me an email each month to access my statement, asked her how I was supposed to access my statement when I couldn't get into the account and I wanted to be able to access my statement today. Told me I couldn't. Also told me that I had been reported to the credit bureau as being late two months. When I told her that I wouldn't have been late if they hadn't kicked me off of auto pay she told me that they had a new program which had fouled things up. I informed her that they needed a new programmer and because of their incompetence their programming problem had now become my problem and I didn't appreciate it. Again no answer.
