Last week I applied for a capital one quicksilver credit card after receiving at least 20 advertisement mail forms stating I can get approved for their credit card. I proceeded to go online and filed, got approved immediately for XXXX and the following day they called me. They called me asking for more information, my social security card and ID and mailing address verification. They sent me a link to my email so I gave them my info. They called me the next day saying they need more information and that the mailing verification I sent was wrong but it wasnt, it was my name and address with my insurance company bill on it. I sent them a utility bill and they called back saying that was incorrect I ended up asking one of the guys I was talking to if this was a scam, he was silent for at least 20 seconds then said yes in a smiriking manner than proceeded to ask for more info I hung up. I looked up the phone number for capital one on XXXX and it gave me a different number. I spoke to a new guy and he seen my account and everything seemed normal I asked him if this was a scam he said no, I asked him to close my account I dont want this he said he did and that the confirmation will come in the mail in 7 days I asked for a email confirmation he said they cant do that. I then called all 3 credit bureaus and froze all my credit accounts! I am now wanting this CAPITAL ONE hard inquiry removed from my account knowing now that is was a scam and dont want this negatively impacting my future with my credit, thanks- XXXX XXXX
