In XXXX of XXXX, I made my first attempt by calling Equiant Financial Services. I spoke with a representative who initially told me that they do not have an account on file with the information that I gave to them. So then, I went further to inform the representative that I will be recording the call and then to confirm that that the there was a fraudulent erroneous account being reported on my credit report. The representative then place me hold several times until he came back to say, he found an account with my information along with someone else 's. I informed him that any account in my name that I was not aware of should be closed immediately. He refused to close the account. He stated that because it was joint he could not do anything. He then said that I should mail in proof if I chose to dispute the account. I placed a security alert on my Credit Reports since XXXX for 2 years and renewed it again this year. I tried mailing Equiant Financial Services a dispute letter to dispute the account and amount owed displaying on my credit report. The address that is showing on my report is invalid and non-existent. The letter was returned by the Post Office stating it is an invalid address and the back appeared to be opened and resealed. The address showing from my credit report for Equiant Financial Services is different from what XXXX is showing their address to be. Inaccurate information. My second attempt I wrote CFPB in XXXX XXXX and they wrote me back to submit my complaint online. I have since have no way of contacting this company by mail. This is against FCRA regulations. Any inaccurate and fraudulent accounts being reported on my credit report and that have been reported within 30 days and there has been no proof that this account belongs to me, the account should have been closed and removed from my report. Please follow-up for me and inform me of your findings.
