I reported fraudulent charges made to my account on XX/XX/22 when I received my monthly statement showing charges at a location in Singapore. I immediately called my card holder, Avant and advised the charges were fraudulent. I asked that the card be closed and that the charges be removed. Avant advised they would send me a new card and refer my report to their " investigation '' unit. A week later I followed up and the charges had not been removed and no statement had been added to my online account that I was disputing the charges and they were fraudulent. I then followed up with XXXX separate emails and a written letter to Avant asking that the charges be removed or disputed and advising them of my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Act, Credit Reporting Act and other consumer protection laws to dispute the fraudulent charges and not have to pay them while they were in dispute. Avant has refused to place these charges in dispute and has reported my new " balance '' to my credit reporting agency causing my credit score to drop XXXX ' points ( prior to this I had a XXXX balance on the card ). I have asked to speak with a supervisor and was told one would call me within 24 hours. That was a week ago and to date no one has called me. I believe Avant is intentionally delaying its so called " investigation '' to force me to pay for these fraudulent charges before my payment due date or have a late payment reported to my credit bureau causing my score to drop again.
