I purchased a litter robot through affirm financing in early 2021 the original order was stolen in transit or porch pirated I worked directly with litter robot to get the device blacklisted and a reshipment was ordered. The second one arrived damaged at which point I paid to ship the second unit back to litter robot and the expectation was set that the affirm financing would be refunded and I should get a refund of my original installment in 60 days from affirm 60 days came and went affirm called attempting to collect payments I informed them at that time that the merchandise had been returned outsourced fellow said a ticket was being opened and everything would be fine. They called a second time attempting to collect repeat aforementioned conversations this time I watched it closer and logged into their help center and sent a message.. the response I was given is that since 120 days had elapsed since I had returned the item and affirm didnt cancel the loan they still expected me to pay the installments.. i confirmed in writing they were asking me to pay for something I returned and no longer have. At this point I feel like their practices may be in breach of some kind of consumer protection law.. like surely its not legal to charge people for things they do not have.
